A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman

A comedy of dramatic proportions.

A washed-up Hollywood movie star attempts to rescue his flagging career by agreeing to play King Lear in Stratford. Only this isn’t the birthplace of Shakespeare and it isn’t at the RSC. It’s the wrong Stratford and the star finds himself in a sleepy Suffolk village with the local amateur dramatics society, who are trying to save their theatre from developers.

There can only be trouble in store as acting worlds collide and the unassuming locals clash with the massive ego of the Tinseltown actor. A Bunch of Amateurs is a hilarious love letter to am-dram and anyone who’s ever been involved will immediately recognise the characters and dilemmas!
