Join Halifax Civic Trust on this circular walk and learn about some of the more unfamiliar Halifax women: a philanthropist, a naughty peeress, a famous poet’s sister, a Bronte godmother, an irritable Postmistress, a novelist, a female architect, the first lady mayor, a dance hostess, an orange seller, and even a ‘tart’.

Add Ann Walker’s pub, a 19th Century woman who helped black slaves in the USA, and a 20th Century artist with an American mother. Plus: two ghost stories told by women, and the storage place for the Halifax Ducking Stool. All are Halifax stories!
