Details

William Prince is a Canadian folk and country singer-songwriter from Winnipeg.

Influences and references shape his approach to songcraft, a masterclass in skilful simplicity. These come from the gospel of his childhood to the pantheon of classic outlaw country singers, baseball and the great beyond. Prince's JUNO Award-winning debut Earthly Days (2015), introduced his poignant philosophy and rich voice to the world. He made his breakout with the song 'Breathless' which found audiences worldwide and reached the B List at BBC’s Radio 2.

Reliever, Prince’s recent album (2020), saw him reconvene with producers Scott Nolan in Winnipeg and Dave Cobb in Nashville. It’s full of simple, elegant arrangements that keep the focus squarely on Prince’s storytelling and his deep, breathy baritone.

Prince’s trajectory has seen him propelled from Peguis First Nation in Manitoba, Canada, to opening for Neil Young. The relative newcomer finds esteem and career-changing opportunity wherever he performs.

With heart-wrenching songwriting and luscious harmonies combined with the natural storytelling of folk, the rhythms of Americana and catchy pop hooks, Madison Violet have been captivating audiences and critics alike for two decades.

Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac met in Toronto in 1999, only to discover that their fathers sat next to each other in high school nearly 2000km away in Cape Breton. That longstanding, deep-rooted history is what ties the duo’s harmonies so tight, and lies at the core of their unparalleled musical connection and enthralling live show.

Following the release of their most recent record, Eleven, Madison Violet received a hat-trick of nominations in the 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards, adding to their impressive list of accolades.

“Heartaching harmonies and tunes make Madison Violet a must-see act.” (The Independent)
