Details

Festival favourites Treacherous Orchestra are back to set the heathers alight. Expect a furious fusion of Scottish traditional music with rock, punk and more. Founded by pipers Ali Hutton and Ross Ainslie, the supergroup blends artists and influences from across the nation and beyond. Having first performed together at Celtic Connections 2009, the ensemble has gone on to take Scottish dance music into a new dimension. Merging traditional bagpipes, accordion, bodhran, fiddle and tin whistle with guitars, bass and drums, Treacherous Orchestra creates a joyous explosion of instrumental acumen, rampaging humour and brilliant tunes.

Their first hometown gig in several years promises a euphoric reunion for band and fans alike. Complete with full 11-piece line-up – with bagpipes, fiddles, whistles, accordion, banjo, guitars, bass and percussion – a set-list of classic material, and all the trademark Treacherous pyrotechnics.

The Scandinavian sextet VÍÍK, exists in a field between the hypnotic Scandinavian song tradition, progressive jazz and alternative rock. At the front of VÍÍK is the Norwegian folk singer and composer Elisabeth Vik, who lures the audience into an enchanting universe of mysterious medieval ballads and fairytales, while reinventing the musical framework of Scandinavian folk music. This year they played the renowned Roskilde Festival in Denmark and are nominated as “Artist of the Year” and “Live act of the year” at the Danish Music Awards 2022.

“VÍÍKs expressionistic narrative explosivity, was awe-inspiring and deeply fascinating!” - GAFFA Music Magazine
