The Re-birth Octet Play The Music Of Miles Davis' 'the Birth Of The Cool'

A jazz octet of top Sussex based Jazz musicians, reproducing and reinterpreting the music of Miles Davis' seminal album Birth Of The Cool. Featuring its unusual instrumentation, (French horn, Tuba plus a variety of jazz instrumentation) this music is rarely, if ever heard live.

Evans innovative arrangements were influenced by classical music and the recordings marked a major development in post-bebop jazz and a milestone for the beginnings of Cool AKA West-Coast jazz.

The original arrangements have been carefully transcribed into extended pieces of music that showcase the group's broad array of local jazz talent.
