Details

American rock band the Dead Daisies includes some of the biggest veterans in hard rock: Guns N' Roses rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus, bass player Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy), keyboard player Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses), singer Jon Stevens (INXS), and drummer John Tempesta (the Cult), with guitarist Dave Lowy completing the supergroup. Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones, Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy, and Nine Inch Nails drummer Alex Carapetis have also played with the band. Their 2013 EP, Man Overboard, was accompanied by two singles, including "Lock 'N' Load," which established a further link to Guns N' Roses with its guest appearance by guitarist Slash. In autumn of the same year, the group's debut self-titled album was released. Two years later they returned with their sophomore record, Revolucion, quickly followed in 2016 by their third full-length, Make Some Noise. The band was joined by additional members during the making of its second and third records, including John Corabi (Mötley Crüe), Jackie Barnes (Jimmy Barnes), and Bernard Fowler (the Rolling Stones). Following 2017's Live and Louder, which documented their European tour from the previous fall, the Daisies hit the studio, emerging in April 2018 with their fourth studio outing, Burn It Down. From there, the band shifted away from its hard rock roots, releasing a series of acoustic covers of artists from Neil Young to the Who. The group's first covers album, Locked and Loaded, was released in August 2019. The band had every intention of releasing their fifth album, Holy Ground, in 2020, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing the band to reschedule everything for 2021; they released an EP, The Lockdown Sessions, to bridge the gap.
