This concert celebrates Christmas with one of the most popular choral pieces for Christmas time – A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, arranged by Julius Harrington for SATB. Originally written during WWII on a voyage back from America to Britain, when Britten discovered a book of medieval poems and set them to music. The rest of the concert is a beautiful mix of traditional and modern carols with harp, cello and double bass accompaniments followed by mulled wine and festive nibbles.
