Dumfries and Galloway born Emily Smith and New Zealander Jamie McClennan bring their album Small Town Stories to Catstrand. Together their vocal harmonies intertwine with an easy, natural grace, testament to a musical relationship which has grown almost telepathic during 20 years singing and performing. With sublime double vocals, guitars, accordion and viola their original material draws influences from folk, Americana and beyond. Performed with heart and consummate craft the result is an intimate, accessible and ultimately uplifting performance.

Smith’s accolades include BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the year, two BBC Radio 2 folk awards nominations and twice winner of Scots Singer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards. Together they have toured extensively throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia and North America. Alongside their solo careers they have performed with many musical greats including Richard Thompson, Barbara Dickson, Jerry Douglas and Mary Chapin Carpenter. TV and radio appearances include Transatlantic Sessions, BBC Songs of Praise, BBC Radio 2's Good Morning Sunday and Bob Harris Show.
