Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Fantasia Orchestra

Details

Superstar cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason returns to St Peter Mancroft, Norwich, on 27th January 2023. A household name, having played at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle, Sheku has given concerts around the world and is the first cellist in history to reach the UK Top 10 Official Album Chart. He initially garnered renown as the winner of the 2016 BBC Young Musician Competition, the first black musician to take the title.

In Norwich, Sheku will be joined by the dynamic Fantasia Orchestra, and their conductor Tom Fetherstonhaugh (‘A spark to watch’, BBC Radio 3). With a recent concert described by The Arts Desk as ‘the most directly emotional music to be experienced live post-lockdown’, Fantasia’s performances have won critical acclaim. Recent highlights include collaborations with soloists Jess Gillam, Thomas Gould, Isata Kanneh-Mason, and Tasmin Little.

The concert programme is still to be confirmed.
