We are delighted to welcome back She'Koyokh to the Village Hall - this time as a quartet. They last played here in 2014 and they brought the house down with their lively mix of Balkan and klezmer music - put on your dancing shoes!

This award-winning band has a 16-year history as 'a brilliant live ensemble' (Songlines Magazine), and a reputation for being 'the best klezmer and Balkan music band in the UK' (Evening Standard).

Since bursting on to the UK's music scene in the early naughties, busking at London's East End markets, She'Koyokh has toured the world, won numerous international awards - including a Millennium Award from the Jewish Music Institute, first prize at the International Jewish Music Festival Amsterdam 2008 and a shortlist for 'Best Group' in the Songlines World Music Awards 2012 - and released four critically acclaimed albums.

Absorbing and performing the rich folk music traditions of Jewish Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Balkans, She'Koyokh's shows bring together the stunning polyphonic melodies and intricate rhythms of Bulgaria, treasured tunes from Serbian villages and exhilarating Gypsy dances from Romania as well as soulful Sephardic songs and klezmer music from the Jewish diaspora. Added to the mix are Albanian folk songs popular in southern Kosovo, beautiful Armenian song and Yiddish swing numbers from 1950s New York.

She'Koyokh is a Yiddish word meaning 'nice one!'
