The London gossip scene is buzzing. Masquerading behind the veneer of polite society, malicious prattlers trade gossip like gamblers and ruin reputations for sport. In the School for Scandal one thing is certain- no-one is safe... After sixteen years abroad Sir Oliver Surface returns home incognito to test the characters of his nephews, Charles (a prodigal, apparently), and Joseph (a paragon, supposedly). He discovers his old friend Peter Teazle has wed a young country wife and is in marital purgatory, being victimised by a hilarious, hateful team of imbeciles and rumour-mongers. But let’s be honest, what could be more fun than an evening with these devilish double dealers?...After all, who doesn’t love a good scandal?!
