Details

One of Gaeldom’s finest singers Mary Ann Kennedy joins Oban guitar legend Finlay Wells celebrating their first duo tour out of lockdown. New songs and music created in the strange times with beautiful video backdrops responding to the little windows of hope and opportunity that punctuated the past two years, the long-time musical friends also revel in revisiting their trademark original song writing and favourite traditional classics.

Mary Ann Kennedy and Finlay Wells are a long-time musical friendship going back over a decade, bringing together very different musical backgrounds to create their own unique take on Gaelic music and song. They first worked together on Mary Ann’s family recording project, The Campbells of Greepe, produced by Grammy award-winner Jerry Boys (Buena Vista Social Club), and the duo was cemented through her two solo albums, released on international world music label, ARC Music. Gaelic-speaker Mary Ann combines a life of music, radio, and television, based at her Watercolour Music studios in Lochaber, while Oban-based Finlay juggles a playing and recording career between his hometown and mainland Europe. They have since gone on to work together on other projects including ‘Talamh Beò (Living Land), a celebration of Coigach and Assynt in the north-west Scottish Highlands, to be released later this year.
