Details

Harpenden chamber choir The Lea Singers mark their return to live concert-giving with Parry's joyful anthem I was glad, a short Nocturne written during lockdown by singer-composer Kim Porter and the monumental Brahms Requiem. The version you hear this evening was arranged by Brahms himself for four hands at one piano and used for the British premiere of the work in London on 10 July 1871. Choral music at its most moving.
