Critically acclaimed London rapper and multi-disciplinary creative Kojey Radical is coming to Edinburgh for his debut appearance in Scotland.

The explosive live performer, whose track ‘Water’ recently smashed past 1 million streams on Spotify, will play at The Caves, Edinburgh on Sunday 11 November as part of his ‘Can I Speak’ UK tour.

A favourite of 6 Music, Kojey Radical has been described by music site Noisey as “as one of UK rap's most fearless voices, as well as one of its most imaginative artists”.

His eclectic and unique music incorporates elements of old-school hip hop, grime, soul, r&b, new jack swing, jazz, gospel, punk poetry and electronic music. His lyrics are complex and address issues such as religion, politics and gender.

BBC Radio 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs compared Radical to US rap superstar Kendrick Lamar saying: “I’m as excited by Kojey as I was by Kendrick when I first heard him.”

His incredibly energetic live shows have blown away crowds at a number of festivals this year, including All Points East, Bestival and The Great Escape.

Through its events, EML raises awareness of mental health and funds for its partner, SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health.

Radical, whose music incorporates elements of UK rap, grime, hip hop, R&B, pop and spoken word poetry, is known for speaking out in support of mental health through his work. Recent single ‘If Only’ explored his struggles with depression, while he also collaborated with adidas for a short film, ‘Infinite Silence’, about suicide.
