Jonathan Taylor is a musical polymath with a very skilled ‘foot’ in the musical camps of Jazz, Tango, Folk and Education. One of Jonathan’s jazz piano ‘heroes’ is the French pianist Michel Petrucciani - and he (Jonathan) has agreed (for this concert specifically) to create a musical tribute to Mr Petrucciani and the music he composed and played. The style will be joyous, uplifting and Latin inspired featuring of course the wonderful piano playing of Jonathan, plus bass and drums (exactly as Michel would have used - although Paul Jefferies will be playing both electric and double basses - Michel usually used electric bassist Anthony Jackson - huge boots for Paul to fill at this concert)! The evergreen time-keeper that is Mitch Perrins will be on drums and you can expect an evening of virtuosity, that showcases the genius of Michel Petrucciani’s compositional works and some informative narrative from Jonathan about the Mr P and his life - which was as extraordinary as his playing.
