Details

A stunning collection of over 50 original oil paintings and Indian inks celebrating Edinburgh’s landscape in wintertime by collectable Scottish artist Jamie Primrose.

From shimmering reflections and snowy pathways in the Meadows in an impressionistic palette, to the characterful Old Town with vibrant, wintry twilight nocturne oil paintings in and around the Royal Mile. This burst of colour is then juxtaposed with a selection of monochrome illustrations offering a striking, detailed illustration of Edinburgh’s majestic architecture – from dark haunting moodiness to crisp, clear uplifting light.

In addition to showcasing captivating skylines from a number of city vantage points – including Calton Hill, Castlehill and Arthur’s Seat, for the very first time the collectable painter explores Harlaw Reservoir in the foothills of the Pentlands. With sunlight streaming onto the tranquil sparkling water and the pleasing sculptural form of the hills lying beyond – these inspiring snowscenes are not to be missed.

N.B. In addition to the original artworks, a selection of similarly themed wintry limited edition prints are also on display to enjoy during the exhibition.
