Thame Players’ panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, is suitable for all the family, and has all the elements we expect and look forward to every year. The main characters:

Jack, the hero, poor, hopelessly in love with the princess, Jill, and determined to defeat the ogre Jed Jeckle, the Ogre, huge and threatening, wanting to eat humans for breakfast Jenny Jeckle, the Ogre’s wife Stinkweed, the Ogre’s henchman Cantaloupe and Aubergine, the king and queen, bumbling their way through the plot Sergeant Pepper and Private Piper, the royal guards Flora, Jack’s mother Benny, Jack’s brother Sweet Pea, the fairy, helping Jack in his quest to slay the Ogre Daisy the cow There’s also an appearance by Robin Hood and some of his Merry Men as well as the Brothers Grimm, famous for their book of fairy tales

We all know the plot, the jokes will be as corny as ever, the songs and dances will be entertaining and everyone will have a great time.
