Gaia R. Silvan is an ever-emerging multidisciplinary and experimental, contemporary artist, from Kintyre, now based in Glasgow. Being black-mixed race, queer, neurodivergent, Scottish, and coming from rural upbringings, Gaia is drawn to researching the complexities held within us that make up our identities. Exploring ways in which to connect, grow, and learn from one another, Gaia experiments, creates, and develops their practice, forever learning and unlearning what it means to be human. To express, to question, to challenge – through memory, magic, contradictions, and conflictions that arise within the world around – and that live within us.
