Details

'The Great Yorkshire Chorus is delighted to present their family friendly summer concert. The choir, formed in 2018, has quickly grown to over 100 members and has become one of the most exciting community choirs in the region. Singing an electric mix of pop, rock, folk and gospel music, the choir will have you tapping your toes and singing along to their original arrangements of well known classics and chart hits. Lead by director Maria Mullin, the Great Yorkshire Chorus has an ethos of fun, community spirit and high musical achievement. They are based in Saltaire and perform regularly around West Yorkshire. Recent highlights have included concerts at the Piece Hall, Halifax, the Royal Northern College of Music and St George's Hall Bradford. There's nothing quite like hearing many voices come together to create an incredible choral sound. Prepare to be uplifted, mesmerised and inspired by the wonderful sound of these Yorkshire voices. In August 2022 the choir will be travelling on tour to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This once in a lifetime opportunity will be a golden moment for everybody involved. In a bid to open this opportunity to as many GYC singers as possible, the choir is undertaking a fundraising campaign to help support those who may find the cost prohibitive to participate in the tour. Proceeds from today's concert will go towards our 'Get us to the Fringe!' campaign. '
