Details

Richard Lomax releases Calendar, his fourth album as Granfalloon on Friday 14th October.

(Influences include: Harry Nilsson, Jonathan Richman, and Love.)

It continues the work of the previous album, Positive Songs, to focus on traditional songwriting, and not quite traditional storytelling; to chisel out small, beautiful moments, filtered through Lomax's surrealist lens.

That lens covers subject matter as diverse as; relationships by way of a bee trapped in a tupperware box (Bee on a String), meta-narrative apology songs (Please Write Responsibly), the insidious nature of Capitalism's aim to be pretend to be your friend (Mr Simm's Olde Sweet Shoppe), and a maths professor who can only express his feelings through mathematical equations (Paint It By Numbers), all framed as fevered journal entries.

Second single Please Write Responsibly was selected a favourite by Tom Robinson's Listen Post... https://www.youtube.com/watchv=c0k39FFV9xw

First single Bee on a String gained support from 6 Music's Chris Hawkins ("Granfalloon! What's not to love about that") https://www.youtube.com/watchv=BFMHyaQzn5I

Support comes from the wonderful Run Remedy and Gideon Conn.

Robin Melinda (AKA Run Remedy) is a multi-instrumentalist New Jersey girl making heartfelt indie folk with an experimental art-pop edge.

Known for effortlessly blending acoustic folk and hip hop, Gideon has a unique performance style which make audiences very happy.
