Future Artists: Royal Academy of Music with Daniel Pioro

Through a series of workshops and conversations, Pioro has shared his unique practice, working with students on how to develop their artistry beyond technique and notation, into a more collaborative and creative sphere of experimentalism and playfulness. In tonight’s concert, the students perform material they have composed and refined under Pioro’s guidance. It is a demonstration of a new approach to organised musical education, one that Pioro has been working on for the last three years that has one goal at its heart. That goal is to demystify the creative process and normalise risk-taking in ‘classical’ music-making.
