Directed by Fiona McGahren This gritty political thriller written by Ariel Dorfman, is set in an unnamed country emerging from a brutal totalitarian dictatorship. The play explores the after effects of repression on hearts and souls. Paulina Escobar's husband Gerardo is to head an investigation into past human rights abuses. A Dr Miranda stops at the Escobars' to congratulate Gerardo. Paulina becomes convinced that Miranda supervised her prison torture sessions many years before and is determined to get him to confess so that she can wreak out her own justice on the doctor. Escobar doesn't know whether to believe his wife or Doctor Miranda who strenuously denies involvement in Paulina's torture. This white knuckle thriller is a riveting intellectual and emotional tug of war. There is strong language and sexual content.
