We wouldn’t normally invite the same performance back to the theatre two years running but this show is an exception. The ‘masters of G&S’ Charles Court Opera, return to Hever Festival Theatre by popular demand (not enough of you could attend in our 2021 socially distanced theatre) with their stylish, highly successful 5 London production of the most loved of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic masterpieces, The Mikado.

Behind closed doors at the British Consulate in the town of Titipu, Japan, the scheming, slippery Lord High Executioner is about to hatch one plot too far, with far-reaching and hilarious consequences for everyone involved, especially when the Mikado himself arrives…

?Containing familiar songs including ‘A wandering minstrel, I’, ‘I’ve got a little list’ and ‘Three little maids from school’, this punchy and hilarious satire promises to be a treat for operetta lovers and newcomers alike.

The production is directed by John Savournin, who’s recent and current productions include Trial by Jury for Opera North, and The Pirates of Penzance in collaboration with Opera Holland Park.
