Coast Gallery announces its newest exhibition ‘Changing Tides’ will open to the public on the 24th of September, closing on the 15th of January 2022, and will also encompass our ‘Small Paintings’ exhibition from 3rd December ending on the 15th January 2022.

It is a mixed show, showcasing a wide variety of well-known artists including returning artists- Ian McWhinnie, Linda Park, Lynn Howarth, Janet McCrorie and Amanda Phillips. New to Coast Gallery are Robert Pereira Hind, Ian Neill, Rebecca Styles, Margaret Kathleen Hume and Marlene Lochhead.

“From the idiosyncratic to the universal, our exhibition ‘Changing Tides’ will investigate a wide variety of visual forms- it is excellent in its scope. Our hope is to make people think about art and the beauty of nature and encourage their own creativity. Also serving as a reminder of the importance of nature and the preservation of our earth, as a celebration of our place in the world. Helping us repair their relationship to the environments that they share with other species and each other. From the deeply human moving works of Janet McCrorie, which capture a particular part of Scottish culture, to Robert Pereira Hind’s beautiful gilded gold pieces- these artists each capture the contrasts and visual dynamism in our immediate environment. ‘Changing Tides’ poses a series of questions, and perhaps even a vision which the artists can help us imagine, in order to seed change and bring forth a new relationship with the space in which we live.’ -Carol Kelly, Gallery Director Coast Gallery is Based in Dunbar, East Lothian and is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am- 5 pm. ‘Changing Tides’ is the third of four exhibitions in 2021.
