Tim Whitehead in Concert We could use lots of space here to describe Tim’s extraordinary musical journey and list all the stellar musicians and bands he’s played with, but it’s probably better to let you check his website (http://www.timwhitehead.co.uk out to discover what a great player we have booked for this concert. Briefly though: Tim Whitehead, a Liverpudlian by birth has had a long association with some of the world’s finest musicians. A previous young jazz musician the year, he toured with Ian Carr’s ‘Nucleus, has been a founder member of the groundbreaking jazz group Loose Tubes; toured the USA with US star pianist Phil DeGreg and during 2009 Tim was appointed the first Artist in residence (musical) for Tate Modern. Tim’s pedigree as a musician is evident from the above, but what we must also tell you is that he has one of the finest tones of any tenor player you’ll hear and his utter commitment and musical intensity when performing is breathtaking. Tim’s rhythm section for this evening’s concert will be the excellent line-up of Frank Harrison (piano), Paul Jefferies (bass) and Mitch Perrins (drums).
