Details

Ross Wilson's great songs, intricate guitar playing and restless spirit is a must-hear for fans of John Martyn and Nick Drake.

Ross Wilson, the Edinburgh-born songwriter who performs as Blue Rose Code discovered the traditional music of the British Isles while in exile down south, falling in love with what he heard. His album, The Ballads Of Peckham Rye was accorded a rapturous critical reception and features a remarkable roll call of musicians including Karine Polwart, Lau’s Aidan O’Rourke, Kathryn Williams and legendary bassist Danny Thompson.

'Imagine John Martyn meeting a young Van Morrison and being shipwrecked with a bundle of Chet Baker records.' -- Time Out

'Wilson's songwriting is fantastically varied, and as witty and knowing on the one hand as it can be heartbreaking and sentimental on the other.' -- The Herald
