Details

Wednesday 5th March 2025 - Lyn Briggs

Originally from the NE of England, Lyn Briggs is a singer songwriter who now lives in Stroud. Her music has been played on many radio stations including Oscar Brand's folk show for WNYC in New York and BBC Radio West Midlands. She’s performed in the USA, Australia and UK. Lyn’s ballads concern social history such as her songs: The Berkeley Poaching Raid, a true story which took place in 1816; ‘Kisses on a Postcard’ about WWII evacuees and A Lament for Dorothy and Archibald, a tragic event that occurred near Minchinhampton in 1916. She’s a balladeer who conveys the emotion of the human experience. She also performs traditional folk songs and contemporary songs accompanied by guitar.

In May 2024 she released her debut cd ‘My Promise’ and this album has been featured on numerous radio programmes throughout the UK.
