In Pollokshields, Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of residents rush to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbours.Screening the film in Glasgow Southside, close to where the events unfolded, brings the story back to the community at the heart of it.
This special outdoor screening invites audiences to gather together for an evening of film, conversation and community, reflecting on the events of Kenmure Street and the spirit of solidarity that continues to shape Glasgow’s Southside today. The screening will be introduced by Sabir Zazai (CEO of Scottish Refugee Council), followed by a special post screening Q&A with Felipe Bustos Sierra, Aamer Anwar, Tabassum Niamat and Mohammad Asif.As part of Refugee Festival Scotland 2026, Southside Open-Air Cinema Day brings together a full day of screenings exploring climate displacement, exile, belonging and collective resistance.
The programme moves from planetary crisis to lived experience to community solidarity in action, culminating in a special screening of Everybody to Kenmure Street returning the film to the neighbourhood where the events it documents took place. This event is in partnership with Inhouse CIC and Inhouse Event Productions.
Supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network, awarding funding on behalf of Screen Scotland and the BFI National Lottery.
