Vistas and Viewpoints

Can Vistas and particular viewpoints reveal a lost map of Celtic Europe? Artist and teacher Simon Sharp uses his own paintings of the South Downs to take us on a walk of Creative and historical discovery . Guiding us around his Vistas and Viewpoints exhibition being held in All saints Church East Meon church , this talk reveals fascinating and often creative initiatives from the past, some of which indicate a sophisticated communication between the most familiar aspects of our immediate landscape here in the Meon valley and the solar system.
But this is no ordinary window into the past. Through this talk Simon challenges each and everyone of us to look beneath the surface of our surroundings and seek our own creative relationship with an often silent and unwritten past. Can we ever see the world as they did?
