John Rutter says "The seven sections of the work form an arch-like meditation on the themes of life and death.Bruckner : Locus Iste: a longstanding favourite of both choirs and audiences.Faure: Cantique de Jean Racine: this piece was written by Faure when he was only nineteen, and is based on a text by the seventeenth century poet Jean Racine.
