This delightful circular walk takes us through forests, moorland, a hidden glen and farmland, before arriving back at the starting point in Dinnet. It passes one of Cunliffe-Brookes many inscribed troughs as it heads towards what is now known as The Queens Road, a route enjoyed by Queen Victoria, which looks down on the Home Farm and gives uninterrupted views of Glen Tanar Estate beyond. Part of the Home Farm is now used as an equestrian centre for Fjord ponies. Walking past them grazing in the fields below adds to the pleasure of the landscape, and if were lucky, one might come to the fence to say Hello. The route continues up and through a hidden Glen, before it starts to drop again, giving aerial views of Lochs Kinord and Davan.
On sections of the walk there might be grazing cattle or sheep, in which case, every attempt will be made to keep a distance from them. Any horses and riders from the equestrian centre will also be given priority to pass safely.TERRAIN
The walk is mainly on wide undulating paths and grassy tracks, some of which can be wet and stony. The walk starts with a steady climb and there is one other short steeper climb.
