Join us for an author talk with Jacqueline Crooks at Emerson's Green Library.Jacqueline Crooks is a Jamaican-born British writer and community development practitioner whose work explores migration, subcultures, and the rhythms of resistance.

Her debut novel, Fire Rush, is a lyrical, genre-defying story of dub reggae, love, freedom, and Black womanhood.

It won the 2024 PEN America Open Book Award and the Society of Authors Paul Torday Prize, and was shortlisted for the Womens Prize for Fiction, Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize, Jhalak Prize, Authors Club Best First Novel Award, and the McKitterick Prize.

Jacquelines short story collection, The Ice Migration, was longlisted for the 2019 Orwell Prize for Political Fiction.This is a pay what you can event with a suggested ticket price of 5.
