A six-mile guided walk in the Goyt Valley near Buxton.
Led by a guide with over 35 years experience of leading walks in the area, this walk starts in the Goyt Valley just west of Buxton, next to the waters of Errwood Reservoir.
After visiting the ruins of Errwood Hall, it climbs the ridge behind the Hall up to Pym Chair.
From there, it follows the county boundary between Derbyshire and Cheshire along the ridge, past Cat Tor to Shining Tor, the highest point in Cheshire.
At over 1,800 feet above sea level, Shining Tor offers some wonderful views across the Cheshire Plain, with views on a clear day extending past the famous radio telescope at Jodrell Bank to the hills of Wales.
From Shining Tor, the walk drops back down the ridge and through the trees for the return to the start point.Online pre-booking is essential, as places on the walk are limited.
Other dates are available, including for a longer nine-mile version, and this walk can also be booked privately on request.
