When Rachael Rowe started tracing her family tree, she discovered an ancestor who was a forger which sparked an interest in the crime and in social inequalities In this talk, Rachael will talk about her research into a hidden family secret (including a twist in the tale), and will also discuss the background to financial crime in the eighteenth century.Rachael Rowe is an author and journalist who has written for a range of publications including National Geographic, BV Magazine, Dorset Magazine, and Hampshire Life.

She loves history and genealogy which led her on the trail of her ancestor with a criminal background, and research into forgery in the eighteenth century.
