Twice nominated as "Best Jazz Vocalist" by the BBC and Jazz FM, and likened to a "female Gregory Porter" by Downbeat, Pollys sound is steeped in the blues, gospel, and R&B of her childhood.Straight out of rural Suffolk, Polly arrived on the London scene at 17, quickly ascending to perform at the Royal Albert Hall and a residency at New Yorks legendary Birdland. After years touring the globefrom Java Jazz to MontrealPolly returned to her roots to record her ninth album, As It Is, at Suffolks own Old Jet studio.For her First Light performance, Polly brings her characteristic wit and grace to a soulful set of both original songs and inspired interpretations of classic standards.
