Field to Fashion Opening Celebration

Textile stories have long been woven into the Museum of Making since its beginnings as a Silk Mill, and our new Field to Fashion exhibition brings these themes into focus again. This exhibition follows the journey of raw British fleece as it becomes fibre, shining a light on the people, places and skills that shape the clothes we love. It celebrates the makers, farmers and designers whose craft connects land to hand and wool to wear.It is therefore my great pleasure to invite you to the exclusive opening celebration of Field to Fashion on Thursday 23 April.The event will begin at 5pm at the Museum of Making. A celebratory drinks reception will be held on the third floor in the Makers Shop. This will be followed at 5.20pm by speeches from Executive Director, Tony Butler and Head of Learning, Charlotte Convey. Guests will also hear from a student who has worked on the project, accompanied by Derby Museums Learning Programmer, Rachael Wayne.Please confirm your place by book your free ticket by Wednesday 22 April.
