Henry VIII and the break with Rome in the 16th Century is what people usually think of when it comes to the relationship between Church and State, but the ground rules for this relationship started and developed many centuries before then.The break with Rome didnt come out of nowhere and the relationship between Church and State developed and changed not only in England but also across the Christian world.This Specialist Tour will explore this relationship, how it influenced society, politics and power during the Medieval era, and how it continued to reflect the changing relationship between the Monarchy and Parliament.This tour starts at 11.15am on Wednesday 6 May.Tickets cost 7 per person plus a small booking fee.Please be aware, our special guided tours always sell out quickly so make sure you book a ticket as soon as you can.Please note that tickets for specialist tours are non-refundable.Arriving for the tourJust ask a member of the welcome and donations team when you arrive at the Hostry entrance to the Cathedral, and they will direct you to the starting point for the tour.
