Bfi Workshop: Visual Poetry

A visual poetry workshop using self-questioning and found objects inspired by Yingmei Duans Talk to Myself, 2002.Participants will make paper-based artworks in a hands-on visual poetry workshop. They will use objects from the gallery garden, workshop space or their own belongings, combining these with short text that they devise during the session and/or with found words and text provided in the workshop. Participants will use prompts to guide self-questioning and reflections on life, time, identity and their experiences. They will experiment with arranging objects, layering text and combining materials to create visual poems blending image and language in playful ways.A limited number of free places are available to our refugee community and individuals seeking asylum or those with Passport to Leisure.
