As a Palestinian born in exile, only to be displaced from his country of birth by yet another war, Sami digs deep into his ties to resistance and Palestinian identity - and still finds space for the silliest of faces.

He posits- can resistance be funny? Following a sold-out London run and a critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe, Sami Abu-Wardeh is touring his “defiantly goofy” (The Guardian ★★★★) call for mass civil disobedience.

Winner of the Bestie Award 2026 and Spirit of the Fringe Award 2026.

This event is part of the In the Works Festival - a vibrant celebration of bold new ideas and the very best local, regional and national artists.

From theatre and music to art and spoken word, the festival offers audiences a vibrant mix of bold new writing, works-in-progress, experiments, and one-off events.
