St Mary's Westerham - Bell Tower and Clock Chamber Tours

This is a rare opportunity to take a 30-minute guided tour of the Belfry and Clock Chamber of St Marys Church in Westerham.

Groups of 4 people will be escorted up the 14th century spiral staircase for a talk on the operation of the Georgian clock which runs Westerhams chimes.

Then its on up to the belfry to view the 8 bells and learn about English change ringing.

You will also experience one of the bells being rung as a demonstration.

Ear defenders will be provided!Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your allocated time.Ascent is via a 50-step oak spiral staircase, plus a short stepladder.

Visitors should wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and whilst all reasonable precautions will be taken, please be aware that visitors participate at their own risk.We welcome children over the age of 8 years.

Each child must be accompanied by one adult supervisor. (E.g. we can admit a group of 4 comprising 2 children + 2 adults; or 3 adults with one child; but not 3 children with one adult).
