Join us for a special early evening tour through the historic woodlands of Forty Hall to the newly extended beaver enclosure in Archers Wood in the Forty Hall Estate. Just at the time of day when the beaver's are becoming active. You will see at first hand the incredible natural impacts of the beavers and how these industrious animals are transforming the area to create wetland habitats that support biodiversity and naturally help reduce flood risk. The tours will be led by Forty Hall Farm's beaver experts, who will meet you at the farm before guiding you to the woodland enclosure. You will end the tour back at the farm where you will finish the evening with a delicious glass of Forty Hall Wine, produced at Forty Hall Farm.Tour concludes at 8.30pmThe Beaver project is a collaboration between Enfield Council and Capel Manor College Londons only environmental college - that reintroduced beavers in 2022 to the capital for the first time in more than 400 years, after they had been hunted to extinction.
The six-hectare enclosure near the Forty Hall Estate was carefully designed to support beaver habitation and it has fostered a thriving environment where the Enfield family has now successfully reproduced baby 'kits'. We can't promise you'll see the beavers during this tour, but you may be lucky!Information:
