To mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence, Phoenix Choir of Crawley present a choral concert of music that reflects American history, in the cantata Hiawatha's Wedding Feast by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and features some of our favourites songs from American composers, including Samuel Barber (Sure on this Shining Night), Scott Joplin (The Entertainer), Eric Whitacre (The Seal Lullaby), Aaron Copland (Simple Gifts), Leonard Bernstein (from West Side Story), Ysaye M.
Barnwell (Wanting Memories), George & Ira Gershwin (Summertime) and more.
With our professional orchestra and professional tenor soloist Paul Austin Kelly, this promises to be a memorable musical evening. This indoor PICNIC CONCERT will start early and will have an extended interval during which the audience and performers can enjoy their picnics - outdoors if the weather is kind to us, or indoors if not! (Bring your own picnic and drinks). There is car parking on site, and level access to the main school hall where the concert will take place.
