Battle of Lansdown

Join me for an evening walk around one of the best preserved - and least known - battlefields of the English Civil War.

Lansdown (just outside Bath) was the location of an unexpected and bloody struggle between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians as they manoeuvred to gain control of Bristol and Bath.

The 90-minute walk follows a circular route and tells the story of the background leading to the event, as well as covering the events of the battle itself.

There are also some other, older, historical clues that we will see.

The route follows footpaths and crosses two stiles and a field, so please wear appropriate footwear.

No need to buy tickets for under 18s as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
