This terms trip to experience live classical music in London features performances of three well-known works. The concert opens with Berliozs Hungarian March, a spirited piece derived from a popular folk tune that was originally part of his dramatic legend,The Damnation of Faust.
Pianist Radu-Gabriel Stoica is the soloist for RachmaninovsPiano Concerto No. 2, an emotional tour-de-force which needs no introduction.
To end the evening, the Orchestra performs Modest Mussorgskys Pictures at an Exhibition. Each movement, masterfully orchestrated by Ravel, depicts a different scene or portrait, ranging from a bustling market to the Great Gates of Kiev. Tickets are 36.50 including travel. Written by Mr Derrick.
