Setting off from Boultenstone, we walk south west up Glen Deskry by good land rover tracks before a short ascent takes us to Preas Whin bothy for a coffee/tea break. A stiffish pull up short heather takes us to the summit of Morven (872m) and hopefully some great views over mid Deeside. A gradual descent west takes us back onto tracks which head south, skirting Peter's Hill, before dropping down by Abergairn to the west end of the pass of Ballater.TERRAIN
Rough ground, but mostly on track. Walking poles will be useful.
