Come and discover a new way of music making! Learn to play the beautiful bronze percussion instruments of Central Java, and their cultural background. We will learn a simple piece of traditional Javanese music as a group, with opportunities to try out the different instruments. No previous musical experience is necessary, just come willing to take your shoes off and sit on the floor.Suitable for adults and children aged 7 years upwards.Led by tutor Jenny Heaton, who studied gamelan in Java and is newly returned from revisiting her teachers there.This is part of Tinners Moon Festival 2026, from 3 31 May.
