The future challenges we face as a community we share together as one.Join guest speakers, including Heron Keron, Julia Farrington and professor Michael Muir for an interactive evening of cordial conversation, exploring how we might work better together, towards a positive future. From farms and forests to villages and wild places, we are all connected by the ground beneath our feet. How can we work together to shape thriving landscapes and resilient communities for generations to come?
The event will be hosted by Ted Leeming, and draws on his new exhibition, currently showing at the CatStrand. Feel free to come along a few minutes early to have a look round. All voices and ideas warmly welcomed.THE EXHIBITION
What The Worms Told Me - and Other Stories - An exhibition by Ted Leeming
What stories lie beneath our feet? And what do they tell us about our place in time?Could a simple pair of underpants reveal the hidden life of the soil? And if the worms could speak, what might they tell us about the land we share? What The Worms Told Me - and other stories has evolved from three years of listening - to soil, to place, and to people. Through photography, collaboration and engagement, Ted Leeming invites us to consider place not simply as the ground we stand on and observe, but as a living community we belong to and are part of.The exhibition brings together a variety of new work for the first time, including a Charter of Rights, Soil Your Undies and If Place Mirrors Who We Are, What Does It Reflect?, (including elements of his shortlisted submission to the Royal Geographical Societys Earth Photo 2025 competition, currently touring the UK). Together, they ask how the health of our land reflects the choices we make and the values we hold. This is not just an exhibition to view, but one to take part in. Visitors are invited to contribute their thoughts and voices to a shared call:To place Scotlands land and all who depend on it at the heart of decision-making, through collaboration, care and collective action.Your reflections will help inform a Call to Action which will be shared with new MSPs and decision-makers following the 2026 Holyrood elections.Because the future of the land is a shared story and every voice has a part to play.Thriving Together - Towards a Positive Future, an interactive discussion drawing on the exhibition, will take place at 7:30pm on 30 April, exploring these and other topics around our place in time. Feel free to come along a few minutes early to look at the exhibition.
