The Minsters Chained Library, founded in 1686 by two local gentlemen, is one of only five remaining in England and is still in its original setting.
With over 460 books, including a handwritten manuscript from 1343 and printed books from 1495 onwards by renowned authors of Great Britain and Renaissance Europe, this Library is one of the hidden treasures in the South West.
Come and enjoy an illustrated talk by Jayne and Mike Twomey, Senior Librarians, when you will hear about a diverse array of books including a handwritten volume nearly 700 years old, a bible in nine languages and how to grow grapes in England.
This is an experience not just for all lovers of books and history, but also for the curious.
