About the Artist:
Colombian-born and based in Paris, Lorenzo Cortés has earned an international reputation as one of the leading interpreters of the music of jazz pioneer Charlie Christian. As founder of the Swing to Bop project, he has become a prominent figure on the Paris jazz scene, celebrated for his authentic swing feel, virtuosity and deep connection to the traditions of early jazz and bebop.
Joining him is acclaimed Scottish pianist Paul Harrison, winner of Scottish Jazz Awards for Best Pianist and Best Project, an internationally respected performer, composer and educator whose collaborations include John Scofield, Chris Potter and Joe Locke.
Completing the trio is Timmy Allan, BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2024 and one of the brightest emerging talents in UK jazz, whose award-winning musicianship has already made a significant mark on the Scottish scene.
Expect a night of exhilarating improvisation, infectious swing and high-energy tempos as these three outstanding musicians combine their artistry, creativity and virtuosity. This unique meeting of Parisian and Scottish jazz talent promises an unforgettable evening of musical excellence.
