Landranger Map no. - 45This trip to Crathes Castle is in two parts. It involves the opportunity to visit the Aberdeen & District Beekeeper's Association Apiary. A member of the association will introduce you to the workings of a honey bee colony, followed by a chance to observe at close quarters a colony in action producing honey. You will be provided with full clothing protection but footwear covering the ankle is advised. Not suitable for those with bee allergies!The visit also includes a lovely walk around the estate woodlands, which passes an established heronry.Cafe at the Castle with toilets available.
